40% Towards Our Goal!

We are looking back on a great couple months. We moved to Germany from the US in May, and visited Frieddy’s brother in Sweden on our way to Germany. We had prayed for a car in Europe and God had provided a car in Sweden that we are still using right now. Praise God! 🙂 From Sweden we went down to Denmark where we took a ferry to get to Germany.

It took our boys especially Ben Elliot a while to adjust to German culture (and us too 🙂 and to the change in life, but thankfully they are really enjoying being here in Germany right now and are already excited about moving to PNG soon.

– Ben Elliot calls it “Papa and Guinea” –

We are full swing into partnership development now which includes lots of traveling, speaking in churches, meeting with people and many things more. On the side we need to do a lot of doctors visits, and we have to get a lot of immunizations and paperwork done. We are at 40% of our financial support goal, please keep praying that God would raise up more people who are willing to support us in our ministry. If you want to make a (monthly) gift towards our ministry please click below.

We are in the PNG application process and moving towards the visa application. It is super exciting to  finally be “really” preparing to go to Papua New Guinea!

We are incredibly thankful for how God has brought us through. He is good and He will do it. We are grateful for all of you who have stood behind us in prayer and in financial support all those years! We could not have done it without you!

So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. Heb 4:16

On the move

FullSizeRender

We made it back to Germany! After a long time of traveling and seeing many people we finally arrived in Germany! We are so thankful for how God helped us during the travel. We are super excited to see family and friends here again! We are feeling overwhelmed when we think about the year that is ahead of us here in Germany but we know that God is here. Please be in prayer for us as we prepare everything to move to PNG in summer 2016.

Ben Elliot’s Thankfulness Bag

They made this in child care last week. Ben Elliot's teacher asked them every day what they are thankful for and wrote it on sticky notes. She also added some treats to the bag. Ben Elliot was so excited that some of them didn't even make it on the photo... :)

5 Months old :)

He smiles all the time, loves watching his big brother play, rolls over from his tummy to his back and almost always calms down when we put on some music. We love our sweet Linus!!!

A Night Hike

Today Frieddy and Ben Elliot went on a little night hike right before bedtime. It is impossible to describe how excited Ben Elliot was!! He had a blast!! I guess it was his first time going for a walk in the dark. He loved spending time with his Daddy! And he loved using his little headlight to explore different things around campus – like cars, tractors and diggers of course… 🙂

I was reminded of how God wants to use as lights in a dark, dark world… How many people are still living without the hope of a Savior. And how just a little light can make an incredible difference! Please pray for us that we would stay focused on the task as we are studying Linguistics this semester and are getting closer to going overseas. Pray for us that Christ would be magnified in our lives and that we would be faithful servants. And please pray for the millions of unreached people that so desperately need the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

Summer Update In Pictures

Wow, trying to sum up everything that happened this summer could fill endless pages… So I decided to just post some photos that speak for themselves 🙂 Our summer break started at the end of May and we spent most of it at the MTC, while Frieddy was able to work on campus for a few weeks. This was especially nice because our visas do not allow us to get jobs off campus. The biggest highlight was of course the arrival of our son Linus! We are so thankful that everything went well and we are so thrilled to be a family of four now!  Just like Ben Elliot, Linus had trouble with his digestion for the first months of his life. After a lot of visits with his midwife and his doctor, many sleepless nights and trying to figure out what could help him, he is now feeling much better. Praise God!

We also loved spending a whole month with my mom, sister and youngest brother who came all the way from Germany to visit us! They were such a big encouragement to us and we soaked up every minute that we spent talking and having fun together! Ben Elliot turned two in July and we had a fun little birthday party for him. We spent lots of time with friends and also as a family. Ben Elliot is talking a lot now, both English and German and often at the same time, haha… 🙂  He loves tractors and diggers, the pool and the lake, helping in the kitchen and reading books. Linus  smiles all day long, except when he does not  – usually when he is hungry or tired… They both love to go on walks. Ben Elliot loves to run around, and Linus usually sleeps through the whole thing in the baby carrier. Frieddy and I had a pretty good start into the semester, although Linguistics does not come easy for both of us. This semester has proven to be one of the hardest so far, considering the time we need to spend studying but also the adjustments for us as a family to a much tighter schedule… God has been teaching us a lot of different things. But I will post more about Ling in another blog entry. Enough for now, before I really start to fill endless pages…
